The Villages of Milos

Sea Kayak MILOS

Plaka

The Island capital, cultural and historical centre.  Though the oldest buildings only date back to the mid 1800's, Plaka has been inhabited since at least classical times.  Built on a steep hill at the entrance of the Milos harbour, it utilized its cliff top position as a natural fortification.  Plaka is the most characteristic town on the Island, with narrow roads, houses of Cycladic style, shops, restaurants and bars. Visit the Kastro, the ruins of a fortress, from which you have an incredible view of the island and unforgettable sunsets.
