Geo trip No 3: Full day trip of 12km or about 3 hours paddling.  Trip begins and ends at Mitikas at Mitikas beach. Highlights include:

• Sedimentary sequence at Ag. konstantinos

• The sea caves and giant pumice deposits of Papafragas 

• Filikopi archaeological site

• Kalergos basalt cryptodome; columnar jointing of varying size, post column forming deformation, eastern and western intrusive contacts.

• Glaronisia Island; composed entirely of columnar jointed basalt; a natural arch and seagull rookery.
